Hybrid striped bass is a cross between striped bass female and white bass male (original cross) or between white bass female and striped bass male (recripical cross).  The striped bass is native to salt water while the white bass is native to freshwater.  However, striped bass have been sucessfully introduced into freshwater lakes as a sport fish.
