Aquaculture Wholesale Market Report
Week Ending June 21, 1996
HIGHLIGHTS
This report is for the week ending June 21, 1996.
Generally, the reported wholesale finfish prices were higher to unchanged. Cajun-lemon
pepper catfish fillets, tilapia fillets, Atlantic salmon fillets, whole Atlantic salmon
and whole turbot reported price decreases. Price increases were reported for catfish
fillets, whole hybrid striped bass, rainbow trout fillets, boned rainbow trout, boned coho
salmon and whole Arctic char. The reported volumes for finfish were slightly higher. Boned
golden trout reappeared in the report.
Shell oysters reported no price or volume change. Hard
clams reported no price change but increased 1,000 clams in volume. Mussels decreased 15
cents per pound and increased 1,900 pounds in volume. No price and volume change was
reported for black tiger shrimp.
The live market reported a price decrease of 2 cents per
pound for catfish and a decrease of 400 pounds in volume for catfish. Tilapia prices
reported no price change and increased 8,500 pounds in volume. Big head carp prices
increased 5 cents per pound with no volume increase. Oysters and Manila clams reports no
price or volume change.
