Aquaculture Wholesale Market Report

Week Ending November 1, 1996      

HIGHLIGHTS

This report is for the week ending November 1, 1996. In general, the reported finfish prices were unchanged to lower. Catfish nuggets, rainbow trout fillets, and whole Atlantic salmon had price increases. Catfish fillets, whole hybrid striped bass, boned rainbow trout, dressed rainbow trout, Atlantic salmon fillets and whole Arctic char reported price decreases. The reported volumes were higher to unchanged. Catfish fillets, tilapia fillets, boned coho salmon and whole Arctic char had higher volumes. Volume decreases were reported for Cajun-lemon pepper catfish fillets, whole hybrid striped bass, dressed rainbow trout and whole Atlantic salmon. White sturgeon fillets not dressed white sturgeon appeared in the report.

Shucked oysters in the ½ pints and pints were unchanged in price and volume. Gallons of shucked oysters rose $4.62 per gallon with the volume unchanged. Shell oyster were unchanged in price and 2260 oysters higher in volume. Clams were unchanged in price and 11,500 clams higher in volume. Mussels wer 11 cents per pound lower in price and 1100 pounds lower in price but unchanged in volume. The pricen and volume for crawfish and alligator meat were unchanged.
