Aquaculture Wholesale Market Report

Week Ending October  4, 1996                   

HIGHLIGHTS

This report is for the week ending October 4, 1996. In general, the reported finfish prices were lower. Catfish nuggets, tilapia fillets and boned coho salmon reported small price increases. No price change wa reported for cajun-lemon pepper catfish fillets, whole tilapia, boned rainbow trout, redmeat trout fillets or whole Arctic char. No dressed white sturgeon was reported. The reported volumes were higher except for catfish nuggets and boned rainbow trout which were lower. Tilapia fillets and whole Atlantic salmon had reported volume increases of over 80%.

Shucked oysters in the ½ pints, pints and gallons were unchanged in price and volume. Shell oysters were unchanged in price but increased 5,500 in volume. Hard clams were unchanged in price and 2,000 clams lower in volume. Mussels decreased 5 cents per pound and 3,150 pounds in volume. Black tiger shrimp were 5 cents lower in price and unchanged in volume. Whole cooked crawfish was unchanged in price and volume. Alligator tail meat was unchanged in price and 50 pounds lower in volume. No dressed rattlesnake was reported.
