Soliciting Sessions for Aquaculture America '08

Several organizations and numerous individuals work hard to develop timely, educational and informative sessions, attract speakers, and organize a trade show so that U.S. aquaculturists can benefit from the “best of the best” during the annual Aquaculture America Conferences. Whether it is cutting edge research, new technologies, better markets, or emerging federal or state initiatives this conference is well worth your time and investment.

Aquaculture America '08 will be held February 9-12, 2008 at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Dr. John Scarpa, Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution, is the program chair this year. John is organizing the science oriented sessions under the U.S. Aquaculture Society banner and recruiting aquaculture and fishery scientists to present their latest work. Betsy Hart, Executive Director - National Aquaculture Association, organizes Producer Sessions that consist of presentations addressing topics of science, policy, regulation, technology, or extension geared to commercial aquaculturists. John Cooksey, World Aquaculture Society Conference Manager, organizes a trade show of national and international companies and services to make your job easier and more profitable.

John and Betsy are actively soliciting, combining and realigning sessions. Contact John (jscarpa@hboi.edu) or Betsy (bhart@sc.rr.com) if you are interested in organizing a session or speaking at one. John Cooksey (Worldaqua@aol.com)  has the exhibit hall all mapped out and if you would like booth space, please drop him a line. The conference steering committee meets June 14th. If you have a complaint or suggestion, don’t hesitate to let me know what is on your mind.

See you in Florida!
