NOAA Opens 2006 Aquaculture Competition
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
(NOAA) has announced that it will award up to $4 million in competitive grants
in 2006 for demonstration projects and research targeted to the development of
sustainable marine aquaculture in the United States. Coordinated by the NOAA
Aquaculture Program and NOAA Research, the competition will consider aquaculture
research and demonstration projects in nearshore, open water, or terrestrial
environments across a range of scientific disciplines.
The deadline for preliminary proposals is February 28, 2006. The deadline for
full proposals is April 13, 2006.
Institutions of higher education, nonprofit organizations, commercial
organizations, Federal, State, local and Indian tribal governments, and
individuals are eligible to apply. To view the full announcement, including
