RFP Released for Hispanic-Serving Institutions Grants
The CSREES Office of Higher Education Programs announces the release of the Request for Proposals (RFP) and the availability of the official Application Kit for the Hispanic-Serving Institutions Education Grants Program for the FY 1999 competition. Due date for receipt of proposals is April 20, 1999. A total of $2.85 million has been appropriated for this program in FY 1999 to support teaching projects that promote and strengthen the ability of Hispanic-Serving Institutions to carry out post secondary academic programs to prepare students for professional and scientific careers in the food and agricultural sciences.
Application Kits are available on the CSREES home page at http://www.reeusda.gov and then by following menu items through "Program Information" to "Hispanic Universities."

Food and Agricultural Sciences Graduate Fellowship Grants
The solicitation for the Food and Agricultural Sciences National Needs Graduate Fellowships Grants was published in the Federal Register on March 17, 1999, beginning on page 13305. This RFP covers the program for Fiscal Years 1999 and 2000, and for FY 1999 Supplemental Grants for supplemental grants to support special international study or thesis/dissertation research experiences for current Fellows.
