Aquaculture Economics and Marketing


The objective of this program is to provide economic, financial, marketing and technical information on major commercial aquaculture species in Mississippi and the Gulf of Mexico. Information about the aquaculture industry includes the following:

  • Commercial production, farm-gate values and prices.
  • Production and processing costs.
  • Foreign trade and domestic consumption.
  • Product forms, sources, quantities and prices in domestic and foreign markets.

Aquaculture Wholesale Market Report

This report provides information about wholesale markets of catfish, hybrid striped bass, tilapia, oysters and big head carp covering the Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Maryland and Washington, D.C. markets. The Maryland Aquaculture Office provided the raw data used in preparing this report.
