Qualifications:
The successful applicant will require a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent in education, training and experience with a minimum of 3 years experience involving systems management of industrial scale farming, manufacturing or processing facilities such as aquaculture production facilities, waste water treatment plants or paper mills. Experience with Building Automation Systems will be an advantage. Must be able to work as part of a team and communicate well with the public. Must possess the ability to travel and hold a valid driver’s license.
Description:
The University of Maine invites applications for a professional position of Systems Manager, at the Center for Cooperative Aquaculture Research, located in Franklin, Maine. Incumbent will be responsible for the continual operation of freshwater and seawater recirculating and flow-through culture systems and all associated support systems at the University’s Center for Cooperative Aquaculture Research (CCAR) in Franklin, Maine. The Systems Manager will also be required to assist in design and construction of new aquaculture systems, develop and implement a facility wide maintenance program, provide technical support for various projects at the Center and assist with implementation of safety programs and training. This full-time, fiscal year position offers a salary commensurate with experience and qualifications within the range of $35,000 to $55,000. Renewal is contingent on ongoing funding and job performance.
